Blacklist Profiles\Barracuda Reputation Block List (BRBL)
Starting in September 2008, Barracuda Networks introduced the Barracuda Reputation Block List (BRBL – pronounced "bahr-bel") as a free DNSBL of IP addresses known to send spam. Barracuda Networks fights spam and created the BRBL to help stop the spread of spam.

Blacklist type
RBL: A RBL dnsbl is simply an anti-spam “black list” delivered via DNS which consists of IP addresses which are found in the body of the message. Specifically, there are the domains and IP addresses which spammers use to host their web sites.
Threat level/ delivery impact
Network Resource/ Deliverability Impact - Below are threats that could cause some significant delivery and reputational issues. At worst, you will experience continued delivery impacts and may be forced to purchase new sending domain and IP resources in order to achieve optimal deliverability.
Nomination
Most IP addresses are listed as a result of directly sending spam or viruses to the Barracuda Reputation System's detectors. The Barracuda Reputation System detects spam by using honeypots, special addresses created to receive only spam and do not belong to any real user and through analysis of captive spyware protocol activity. In addition, the BRBL leverages some data derived from the Barracuda Blocklist (BBL) that is delivered to Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewalls as part of Barracuda Networks' product offerings.
Listing lifetime
Varies. Yet rarly permanent.
Notes
Removal requests are typically investigated and processed within 12 hours of submission if provided with a valid explanation. The false positive rate of the BRBL is rather higher than the above lists. BRBL is also quite unhelpful in the face of FPs or other support issues.
Delisting guidance
Visit http://www.barracudacentral.org/rbl/removal-request and follow the instructions for removal. Please note that the BRBL is generated by automated systems. Requests without valid information will be ignored. Multiple requests will also be ignored.
